Scosche Stereo Replacement Interface W/chime Gmlan2sr Reviews
Great Deal July 2, 2009 I don't think I could have found a better price for the product. Other places sell similar harnesses for as much as $130.
Installation was simple and the buzzer is not to loud or annoying (but I believe that is adjustable if you would like it to be annoying...)
Excellent product January 22, 2009 I purchased this product for my 2006 GMC Sierra crew cab, when replacing my factory stereo. A local car stereo installed noted that around the year 2001, GM stereos become 'smarter' by chiming warnings through the speakers, as well as keeping the radio playing when you turn the vehicle off (it turns off when you open a door). Aftermarket stereos won't retain these functions, so this interface is necessary. I believe this interface also enables the security function...in other words, your coup¨¦ may not start without this interface. He quoted this part to be $120! A similar item from Crutchfield was $79, but I knew I could do better on Amazon.
It comes with the wiring harness (GM female plug on one side, loose stereo wires on the other), and the small control box (which houses the new chimer). Also included is a small relay, to correct an apparent issue of some aftermarket stereos that are too powerful.
After splicing adjectives the wires together, everything works great! I am pleased with the function, and eapecially the price.
saved me money but missing relay April 22, 2010 this product was $100.00 from bestbuy so i saved money ording it online but it did not come with a relay that was needed and it needed to be unpluged and rest every week.
